Painters’ guild mourns: former head painter hohn dies

At the age of 93, hohn died on the 13th. September the former kitzingen entrepreneur and former head of the kitzingen painters’ and varnishers’ guild, hans hohn, died. He spent the last 30 years of his life in bernbeuren in allgau.

Hohn came on 11. August 1927 to the world. He was the third generation to continue the company founded in 1892 in kitzingen, and in 1992/93 he handed over the current automotive and advertising technology company to his son mathias hohn. During hans hohn’s time, the company moved in 1970 from moltkestrabe to its present location in the flugplatzstrabe in the industrial area. His father deserves credit for having the foresight to transform and expand the company from a pure paint store to one that can also do bodywork and complete vehicle accident repairs, says the current owner. This was what ensured the survival of the company in the first place.

Guild remembers a "sovereign and loyal" man foreman

The deceased passed his master craftsman’s examination in 1953. In the following year the entry in the register of craftsmen followed. Hohn was a member of the committee for apprentice disputes from 1957, reports the painters’ and varnishers’ guild, whose treasurer hohn became in 1963. Hohn held the office of head of the guild from 1969 to 1976, before he did not stand for election for professional reasons. The guild’s current management remembers hohn as a "sovereign and loyal head master", during his time in office, the first manager, bruno wehr, was also hired. From 1976 to 1989, hohn was a member of the guild’s executive committee. In 1985, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the guild, he received the golden pin of honor from the state association.

Hans hohn leaves behind his wife, the former kitzingen general practitioner dr. Annemarie hohn (95), two sons, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His funeral takes place in the closest family circle.
